alright. please please please take my advice. putting numbing creams on can lessen the pigmentation of your tattoo. TRUST me when I say it is NOT that bad. I am suuuper skinny and my first tat was on my ribcage, which is considered the most painful place to get it done. I won't lie and say it didn't hurt. Because it did. But you get use to it, and it isn't anything anyone can't handle. Its more uncomfortable. The outlining hurts the worst but the filling in part is easy breezy. I PINKIE PROMISE you that you will be just fine without it.

Chances are great that the cream won't last for as long as the tattoo takes. As mentioned, the artist will wipe your back repeatedly, and once they break skin and you start bleeding, the cream is just going to be washed out and off of you. Plus, those needles go over the same areas repeatedly. Also, as mentioned, the cream can thin your blood, which gives you an awesome chance of bleeding out the ink the artist is trying to put in. Hence, touch ups that won't be any less painful.

Just earn the tattoo. Its your birthday, so remember it. The upper back isn't the most painful spot anyways. Try an elbow or the back of your knee if you really want to squirm. :-/

DONT USE NUMBING CREAM!!!! it can cause your nerves to deaden to the point were the tattoo will not take. It will also cause the tissue in your skin to sag. When you use numbing creams it can do more damage than good. So let your natural chemical handle the pain. You can deal with it. Its not that bad. If your concerned about it. Its alot like drawing blood. It hurts before the needle sticks you, when the needle is in, You realize it didnt hurt at all. Its all mental. Just focus on something else while your getting inked.

Just go and get the tattoo.

If you want a tattoo, then get a good nights sleep, eat 1 hr before you go in, and hold still.

No numbing, no pain meds., no alcohol.

You will live through it to do excellent aftercare for the next month or so.

luck~!

Some artist's will use it, some won't. With some people, it makes it harder for them to take ink. Plus, it only lasts for about an hour or so. Most good tattoos take longer than that.

u can apply it 30mins before getting the tattoo done so it will work but the artist will wipe off the cream and sterilise the area anyway

under most normal conditions, no. partially due to possible side effects, allergic reaction, etc. also most parlors don't want to take the legal risk of you accidentally breaking out in hives, the ointment thinning out your blood and you bleeding out on the floor etcetc
