Legally, you need to be 18 years of age. There are no exceptions. It is still illegal to tattoo someone under the age of 18 even if you have parental consent.

Think you know by now.... 18 years old with or without your parents consent & no decent tattooist will tattoo you if your not 18 & let's face it you need to go to a decent tattooist as it is with you for life so wait until your 18 as your attitude, life style etc would probably have changed by then.

Sorry it's not the answer you are looking for but the law is made for a reason... 

Like everyone else has said, the law states 18. Anyone tattooing personnes under the age of 18 are breaking the law, can be done for assault and are automatically put on the child sex offenders register. If they are willing to tattoo illegally, what else are they willing to do that they shouldn't??

18 as everyone else says =)

It's worth the wait as well as it being illegal, being 18 means you can chose what you want to get and where you want it, and pick the right tattoo artist. It's usually the case that people who don't ask for your ID obviously don't care enough about their work/art so is it really worth having a tattoo that means something special to you and that you'll have for your whole life done badly =)

Totally hope you wait =D

Legally, you must be 18 to get a tattoo and under no circumstances can an under-18 go to a reputable shop and get one done.

Legally the age is 18 but I started at 16 and so did a few of my mates at school (someone had her first at 13). If you get a tatt before your 18th birthday even if you have parental consent, it is against the for the tatooist to give you a tattoo and they'll get done for assault and also lose their licence

18. Parents consent or not, it is still 18.

Anyone who tattoo's people under that age are breaking the law and are not respectable tattoo artists.

It's 18, no exception by law there.

But, there are some more laid-back places that don't make a fuss about age as long as you seem capable enough to handle it, and you don't look ten.

If you have parents consent, you can get em' as young as 16 I believe. That's America though, I dunno about UK. (:
