My new tattoo is starting to peel and I'm not sure what to do to maintain the color.

Switch to an unscented white lotion like Lubriderm and apply it lightly 2-3 times a day or when your tattoo starts to feel a bit dry or itchy. It's normal to have some ink come out of your tattoo as it heals. Unfortunately you will have to wait until your tattoo heals (which can take 2-4 weeks) to see how it turns out. If there is some ink missing or if it faded too much then you can always have it re touched.

You can use a little on it. As you know, I'm sure, just don't help peel it, eventually it'll rub into something and the scab will fall off. It takes some self discipline. But a reeeal thin coat of Aquaphor won't hurt anything.

Quit using Aquaphor and start using unscented body/hand lotion. Once it is done peeling it will look all shiny and kinda faded don't worry this new skin is called silver skin, it takes a couple weeks to go away, and then you will know for sure if it needs touched up.
