it’s not going to be a huge tat, medium size! just wondering if you’ve had experience having a tattoo on the side of your neck? and if you’d recommend me not getting my first tattoo on my neck

I obviously don’t know your situation but I would advise against getting your first tattoo on your neck. If you want to get a tattoo on your neck, I imagine you might want other tattoos so why not start somewhere else? Make sure the artist is very good for such a visible place. Whatever you decide, good luck :)

Not if you want to work in professional settings. The classiest among us keep tats to ourselves. Seriously. There are dress codes regarding tats. So, keep it in a place where you won't have to wear a turtle neck in order to keep all of your professional options open. That's my recommendation.

Imo, for a first tattoo its not the greatest idea. Wouldn't recommend but if its something you really want then i say go for it. Don't know anything about you, girl or boy, age, hair length etc..

But I have two neck tattoos, one on each side. On my left i have babygirl written going downwards (think justin biebers lettering down his neck) with a little rose on top, and the other size i have a simple moon outline. I love them theyre simple and cute, esp when i have my hair up. Personally, I have had no problem with employment because of them, but i work in entry level retail (im 19) so if youre older and have more of a office career I'm not sure how they would react. Out of the work place tho, I get no stigma for having a neck tattoo. It all just depends what you get that people associate it with "gangs"

A bit more painful than other spots because the skin is softer and the needle feels a little more sharp but its bearable ! Healing is easier too because most likely it wont rub against clothing, gets fresh air, and is in a spot where its easy to clean. Good luck !

It depends what kind of job you have or plan to have. Some industries do not allow visible tattoos, so you may want to take that into consideration when choosing where to get one.
