I'm wanting to get a tattoo and of course I'm not 18 yet. In the state that I live now you can't get a tattoo unless you are 18 with no exceptions, but if you drive an hour to Idaho their laws are a little different. You can get a tattoo at the age of 14 with parental consent. My parents are against tattoo's and won't take me. My friend's Mom said that she would. I'm wondering what I.D they will ask to see proving that she is my legal guardian OR even my parent since I look enough like her to be her daughter.

As I posted in your exact same question that you posted a little while ago... Almost every shop requires a birth certificate or proof of guardianship and ID of the parent or guardian to verify that it is indeed them. Your friends mom would not be able to take you because it would be against the law to do so, your friends mom could get into serious trouble and I am sure you dont want that.

They will need your ID, drivers license or birth certificate (which will have your parents details on it) and also they will need the person going with you ID.

I know you dont want opionions but this is honestly a bad idea. The person going with you has to sign a LEGAL document giving you permission to get the tattoo and you have to sign it too. It will have something along the lines of saying that the person with you is your legal gardian, they give consent for you to get it and that they cant hold the artist responsible for any mistake or anything. I got my first at 17 and my mum signed it. If the tattooists find out or somehow your mum found out the other lady can and will get is serious trouble.

Wait till your 18, if you want it bad enough it will be worth waiting for

You need ID and the person signing for it needs ID. Your names have to match for it to be acceptable. If the names don't match, then you need the proper divorce papers that prove that they're your parent or the papers that prove that they're your legal guardian.

I don't have experience with trying to get someone that's not my legal guardian to sign for a tattoo but when I was 16 my mom took me to get one and since her and my dad are divorced and my last name is different, she had to bring in her divorce papers.

Probably a driver's license, they'll check the last name. Maybe something more- like a birth certificate- I've heard happen before. But usually they're good with a DL

That is a bad situation waiting to happen. My advice: Wait. Think about it. Why do you even want one that badly? And shae on that Mom for even thinking of doing that!! Most likely your mom would get pissed and not trust you. And earning it back it hard.

you friends mom shouldn't go against YOUR mom's parenting. first off, if your mom finds out it could ruin your friendship, and 2nd you just cant do stuff like that
