It depends on how you use it.
The Dial GOLD liquid soap is the most recommended for this.
I've always used a bar though... but do NOT use this bar for anything else but for your tattoo. And do NOT rub the bar on your tattoo. Wash your hands, then rub the bar on your hand to make some suds, then gently rub your hand over your tattoo to wash it.
If that's not good enough to wash the whole tattoo- repeat the process over again.
The tattoo is an open wound, you want to keep it germ-free as much as possible.

Liquid dial soap.
The bars of soap have SO much crap in it to keep it in a bar and ****.

Liquid, and make sure its unscented. You wont need a lot. Make sure you put a thin layer of ointment on once you are done cleaning it.
