Question:
my tattoo is healing, but it looks weird, is the dead layer of skin covering the tattoo itself, or did the tattoo fall off?

tattoos do tend to peel when they're healing, and it's super important to moisturize with unscented lotion occasionally, to keep the tattoo from peeling too much. Make sure not to pick or scratch at it, as it can peel some of the tattoo off. Tattoos generally tend to be pretty deep in your skin (like several layers of skin, depending on how well the tattoo was done), so theres a pretty slim chance of it "falling off" due to peeling

It's just a scab. When it comes off your tattoo will still be intact. Just let it fall of naturally and don't pick at it.

Were you ever given any kind of ointment after you got it? If not or you weren't given any ointment names by your tattoo artist than this could be the reason why it doesn't look good

All healing tattoos look weird. Give it more time to heal.

your tattoo didn't fall off and the scab is covering it
