Hi everyone.. so I've picked out a small symbol that I would like to get a tattoo of in honor of my mom. Today I visited a tattoo shop and the artist said that with my design being the size it is (small..a little larger than a quarter) it would have to be done in black. He said black will last better in the long term and he said it should be shaded in in black. I think a black tattoo might be too much on me though, im extremely pale with light blonde hair and blue eyes.. I'd really want to get in a light blue or brighter pink color; before meeting with the artist, I was hoping I'd be able to get it with no black outline because I didn't know how tattoos work and that the colors can run. (ex, sienna mille has all light blue stars on her shoulder. no outline) Sorry to go on and on, anyway, I'm going to have it on my side where it will practically never be exposed to sunlight. Do I still have to worry about a color fading or looking terrible? and if I do get it all one color and it looks terrible in a few years can't I just get it redone in black over it? Thanks for your time I appreciate it!

Personally I don't like small symbols at all because you have to be really close to see them and often they just look like blobs to me. It would make no difference if it were solid color or solid black from tattooing stand point. Get the color you want and consider having it outlined in a darker shade of that color if possible. It will hold up better.

I don;t understand the pricing for simply inked black tattoos, however I have a tattoo that's approximately the dimensions you ask, and it used to be round eighty bucks, I suppose that mine could also be rather better than what you wish although... well good fortune together with your tattoo!!! Hope that I helped Teresa

its your tattoo you can do whatever you want with it or whatever color you want. if you want it pink get it pink, if you want it brown, get it brown.

when you get a tattoo you cant expose it to sunlight for like 3 weeks or else it will fade. after that it doesnt matter at all if you expose it to sunlight or not.

IF it comes out bad you can get it covered over with whatever.
