From the reading I've done, it sounds like they were made up, but they were simply designed to represent the larger vampire families. One of the characters, Deacon Frost, who was "turned" even invented his own symbol for whichever humans he made into vampires since he wasn't a member of any of the major existing families. I personally think that they look a bit like Egyptian glyphs, even sort of remind me of sanskrit but I doubt they actually mean anything.

The original Blade was great. Part two not so much. However they redeemed them selves with trilogy. Not to bad. And it has a totally hot Dracula, so for a girly movie night, aint a bad pick!

If you've seen the other 2 blade movies and enjoyed them, you'll like it. Or if you enjoy watching Ryan Reynolds run around being a buff vampire killing machine, you'll like it.
