I have my first session for my first tattoo scheduled for this Saturday. (Which is my 18th birthday)
The tattoo is going to be fairly large (half a sleeve) This first session is going to be for three hours and is going to cost me about $250. My artist is drew the design herself after I told her a general idea of what I wanted. So, she has already put a lot of work into it.

What would be a decent tip to give her after the end of this first session? And for the future sessions?
Anything helps. Thank you!

I'd say 20% minimum, because assuming that this is a custom piece your artist has invested a lot of time and creativity into it. I'm scheduled for a piece that's going to run about $1500, and I've budgeted out about $300-400 for tipping.

I have five tattoos and I continually tip.. three of mine rate among $a hundred and eighty and $220 and I have $50 for the ones three. My two smaller ones I tipped $20. I do not suppose plenty of individuals tip their tattoo artists even though considering the fact that although I cross to the identical man whenever he turns out surprised and continually asks if I'm definite approximately my tip. Just use your judgment for those who wish to tip. It's thoroughly as much as you.

it really all depends on how much work the artist put into drawing for you

or if its just something that you printed off the internet and had copied on paper for you

then after its all done on how you felt it came out

i would tip anywhere from 20-40 for something large USD

for future reference i would say that 10-20 is always a good average tip for something smaller

15% - 20% is average
