So I just got my first tattoo today, it's located on my calf. My question is, if I wear jeans will it damage my tattoo and hinder the healing process. Unfortunately I must wear jeans for 11 hours a day outside due to my job so I really have no choice. Is there anything I can do to stop my jeans from damaging my new tattoo?

Do not put layers of gauze on it your tattoo should only be covered by bandages for a max of 24 hours don't wear pants that are tight you need loose clothing my 3rd tattoo was on my calf and I wear pants 14 hours a day the next few days its gonna feel like your calf muscles are sore when you walk it's normal

Didn't the person who tattooed you give you any advice?

I'm no expert, but I'd think that several layers of gauze over the tattoo to provide padding would be the best you can do. And, if you can, take tomorrow off to give it a bit of a chance to heal.

Hope that helps.

you CAN wear jeans, but if they are tight jeans cover the tattoos because if you dont the jeans can rub the tattoo and irritate it.
