Well, everyone seems to want a tattoo when they are your age, and no one your age understands that it's illegal to tattoo minors in most places. I can understand at 14 you're wanting one, and that you see people with really great tattoos, and want one for yourself in the future. Keep one thing in mind, until you've lived a little and can understand how a tattoo will affect the rest of your life, you shouldn't get one. I get a lot of clients who are celebrating their 18th birthday with a tattoo, and I think that's great, but, I always talk with them to make sure they make good decisions on placement and design choice. I say the legal age should be 21, just like alcohol. At the age of 21, people have lived a little, maybe held down a job, and can make a better decision about placement and design (not always though!) Keep thinking about it, and enjoy the artwork on others, then, when you're older, get one for yourself. Best wishes!

I feel the best age would be 18 at the least. I waited until I was 21 to get my first tattoo and I still love it. Most people I have met over the years who got tattooed young (under the age of 18) regrets their tattoo and have changed it. But I feel 18 is a good age.

20 is the best age, thats how old i was when i started collecting tattoos. Of course i wanted one when i was 14. But u can't get good, legal tattoos at that age and if you are tattooed, it will more than likely be substandard.

Us this time to plan out what you want. Whether you believe it or not, you ARE still growing as a person and discovering who you are and what you want. The worst thing u could do to yourself is permanently mark yourself with an adolesent image.

I got my first tattoo in February while I was sixteen. In Alabama it's legal to tattoo minors with parental consent and I know a guy who tattooed a 12 year old. That's way too young, in my opinion, and I think 14 is still a little young, even though I wanted one when I was fourteen as well.

I think tattoos are a great way to visibly document your life but you might want to wait a couple of years, at least. I don't really think there is a prime age for getting a tattoo, just make sure it's something you aren't going to grow out of, like someone else said.

i think you should be more mature. Wait until your out of the phase of discovering yourself... there's a reason the age limit is 18. I got mine when i was 18 but, it was something that meant a lot to me and something i had wanted for a long time. i would get what you want tattooed sketched out and then take copies of it and hang it in your mirror, cars, background of phone/computer. put it everywhere so you see it all the time. then you'll figure out if you like it or not and if you're going to get sick of it or not.

good luck :)

#a million...end extreme college.. each thing else is secondary in case you're thinking approximately transforming into a member of up. #2. stay in JR ROTC. in case you do connect, having 4 years of JR ROTC decrease than your belt gets you some greater advantageous reward once you connect. #3. Get good grades. in case you do 4 years of JR ROTC and have good grades AND get the advice of your ROTC Commander, you're in a position to get a ROTC scholarship for college. #4. do no longer do drugs, get caught DUI, or in any incorrect way get in worry with the regulation. #5. don't get tatoos! a number of the branches are nuts approximately that, specifically in the event that they are seen on your arms, neck or head. additionally don't get physique piercings. #6....communicate over with each and all of the recruiters. do no longer sign something you haven't any longer examine and understand. (many anybody is in now who did no longer understand what "as much as eight years" means.) #7. heavily evaluate college first then transforming into a member of. Being an officer has loads of reward over being enlisted. (RHIP)..

At least wait until you're 18 and out of high school. And don't just get one as soon as you can because you're able to get one. Tattoo's should be meaningful and represent who you are.

You'll have to wait till you're at least 18 to get it done legally. If you know what you want; get it then. My daughter was 17 when she got her first (it was legal in Hawaii with my consent). It was something she had planned for ages tho.

Um. Definitely not 14.

It'll probably be something you'll grow out of when your older. So I say wait till you're in your 20s.

I mean no matter what age you get it, if you regret then you do, if you don't.. You don't

Good luck.
