(Summary at the bottom if you don't feel like reading) Got tattooed on Saturday from a reputable shop. I've seen the artist's work and was impressed, and several of my friends and even my step mom have been tattooed there, and have had nothing but good things to say. I didn't think of it at the time, but I realized she didn't shave my arm. As far as the shop, it was a clean room, she had the autoclave, every time she switched to a new color she used a brand new needle. The entire procedure was exactly the same as all of the procedures I've read online, aside from the shaving. So I don't know if she has a reason for not shaving it, or if she just forgot. Like I said, she's an experienced and trustworthy artists, and from people I've talked to they've never had problems with their tattoos. The tattoo came out great, the details are impressive, and everything I've ever heard about the typical healing process is exactly what I'm experiencing. So basically I haven't noticed any problems. I'm just a little bit paranoid about the fact that it wasn't Shaved. The area was not extremely hairy, but it was like the typical amount of hair you'd expect on the bicep of an 18 year old guy. So is this likely to cause problems? Like I've said, it's healing well and looks good, i'm just paranoid. Will the area not being shaved cause any problems? And if so, are the potential problems correctable with a touch up once the tattoo has healed? I understand that most shops do free touch ups for a certain period of time, and certainly I think she'd touch it up for free if it was her fault.
SUMMARY:
Tattooed from trustworthy artist.
Sterile room and sterilized tools.
Healing normally with no problems after 5 days.
Didn't shave my arm before tattooing.
Will it cause any problems with the tattoo, and are these problems fixable with a touch up?

The shaving isn't necessary they do it because it helps when doing the tattoo. It helps the artist make sure the lines are clean and that they're doing it right .... it shouldn't cause a problem with your tattoo or the way it heals or looks after healing.

Because sometimes a tattoo can remain raised slightly for as long as a couple months. This can be very frustrating and itchy to the wearer. In this case, if the tattoo is completely healed with no open sores or scabs, an electric razor is you best option. Even a chemical hair remover would be better than a blade, but be sure to leave it on for the minimum time required to remove the unwanted hair. If you must use a blade razor, exercise extreme caution. Your tattoo is so close to being successfully healed - the last thing you want to do now is open it up.
