New industrial piercing and swimming in ocean?

I just got my industrial pierced today. However, I'm leaving to Mexico to a resort and I plan to swim (not in the pools, but in the ocean.) Will this be okay for my piercing? I'm leaving in 40 something days, so that gives it some time to heal. Salt water won't be too bad for it? I absolutely hate pools so I won't be in them, just the ocean. I plan to clean it and take care of it there as well.
Thanks for all the help!

No! Industrials take a year or more to fully heal, it's not going to be anywhere close to healed in 40 days.

The ocean is no better than pool water. It contains sea salt (too much in fact, it'll burn and irritate your piercing), yes, but sea salt isn't a magical elixir that makes infection impossible. The ocean is also chalk full of bacteria and other infectious microbes. If you get that piercing in ocean water, count on an infection.

If you really must swim, keep your head out of the water for sure!

Yes, CLEAN salt water is great for piercings, unfortunately the ocean isn't clean (especially the ones in Mexico, every time it rains the beaches here in San Diego get contaminated from the TJ sewers). DO NOT submerge your fresh piercing in ocean water (or pools or lakes) for at LEAST 2 months.

No way. It won't be healed in 6 weeks, and you're only giving it a good chance of getting infected by swimming in the ocean. Seriously, it's full of sand and bacteria and protozoa and algae and dead animals and fish poo.

definatly not a good idea. you should wait at least til it heels which can be anywhere from 4 weeks to 12 weeks to go swimming in the ocean or pool. salt water will infect it if its not heeled ! so be careful !

Don't listen to the people above me.

Salt water is the best thing for new piercings.
