You could always draw it on, but you will need carbon copy paper at least to do it..

okay no, not leather. It has been tanned, and impregnated with oils. Its surface is tougher than real skin and wont hold ink the same nor will it show the same. Use raw pig skin. Go to a locally owned butcher, they throw the stuff out every day. Cut it up, into practice size pieces, and then put them in a bag and in the freezer. When you are ready to use one, take it out and warm it up in a bowl of warm water for a min or two, DO NOT MICROWAVE. the skin is as close to human flesh as you can get naturally, and usually you can get it for free. The only downside is first off, it stinks a bit. Secondly is that when doing color it wont be the same as human flesh. This is due to the fact that the skin wont bleed. When tattooing people, the blood mixes with the ink to an extent and alters the color. Its a minimal thing to adjust to. Also it wont really show grey wash, so its a good time to practice your whip shading using black ink for those grey fades.
