do finger tattoos hurt? and how much do they cost?

I want to get a finger tattoo on the side of my ring finger, not on the top or knuckle or anything like that, but I'm not sure if it is going to hurt a lot. It is going to be my first tattoo so I don't really know my pain tolerance, but it is not a very large tattoo. Any advice will be helpful. Plus if you have a finger tattoo like the one that I want, how much did it cost?

There is no padding on the side of the finger, that's why it hurts so much. Tattoos also have a tendency to spread there. Get it on top pf the knuckle and it won't hurt as much, won't spread out and actually stay longer and look better.

The most painful part of getting a finger tattoo is when you find out people do not like them anywhere near as much as you do. In fact, you can just forget about some potential jobs, but if your career is not important to you, go for it.

they cost differently depending on the place you go, even if you have a low pain tolerance the tattoo will be so small that it will be over pretty quick
