I had my 1st tattoo on the inside of my wrist done on June 19th
So just over 2 weeks ago.
The scab has fallen off, and there is just a little bit of peeling now.
My question is how long should I apply the cream for?
Im using Bepanthen, which is used for like nappy rash etc. (UK product i think)
I have reduced the application to once a day!

Im also off to spain next week, and anyone have any tips for protecting it from the sun?
And can I swim in a chlorine pool without discoloring the tattoo etc?

Thanks!!

You can easily switch to a regular lotion now. It's still probably a good idea to limit color and fragrance as much as possible, but you've moved on from wound care to skin care at this point.

As long as your tattoo is fully healed (feels like normal skin) there should be no problem with a chlorine pool. During healing you want to avoid soaking a tattoo to keep the healing skin intact as much as possible.

Just make sure you use a good sunscreen and everything should be fine.

My tattoo simply completed therapy and I had no issues and it appears nice. My tattoo artist wrapped my tattoo in a lubriderm bandage, which I was once informed to hold on for a complete week. The bandage was once very handy on account that I did not need to wash it or practice ointment. This is anything new in tattooing so no longer many locations do it but. After I took it off I was once informed to scrub it in anti-bacterial non-scented cleaning soap and practice a perfume loose lotion each three-four hours. I used Aveeno everyday moisturizing lotion. My tattoo is healed now however I hold to position lotion on it everyday and night time to hold it lookin' sharp! well success!!

Once it feels like normal skin you can go swimming. Also at that time you should use a high SPF sunblock when out in the sun for more than a few minutes. A water-proof sunblock would be best for your vacation.

It sounds like you should be at the normal stage in the next couple of days.

you should use a&d ointment. it helps it heal veryyyy well. as far as the sun thing goes you could but a bit of gauze on it with medical tape.
