I was thinking about getting one, could someone post some pics so I could get some ideas. I'm not sure where i'd put it, maybe on my forearm or calf...

There are a bunch of dia de los muertos ideas, but I am guessing you want a more standard one, like a skull? I found a whole bunch of pictures of them. Alot of them are very detailed, though, and if you want something more simple you could check out google and sites like that.

the last one is embroidered, but it still looks pretty nice.

i've got one, a large calavera de azĂșcar on my arm, with forget-me-nots around and behind it. it's by far my favorite tattoo. i got it because i wanted some kind of tattoo for my husband (the skull as in ''til death do we part', and forget-me-nots because i work on a ship and i'm often away at sea.)

i wanted it to be a sugar skull because i'm mexican, and wanted something a bit nicer looking than just a basic scary skull.

sorry this is quite a bad photo, my husband took it with his phone right after it was done.
