Is It OK To Clean My Tattoo With Alcohol After I Take A Shower?

I Just Got My First Tattoo Early This Week & I Was Wondering Is It Alright To Clean It With Alcohol After I Get Out The Shower Then Apply Tattoo Cream or Just Take A Shower And Apply The Cream ?

My bf has a tattoo studio and this is the aftercare: Hope this helps

a) remove the dressing after a minimum of 2 hrs

b) wash the tattoo gently with mild soap & warm water, making sure that you remove all of the vaseline

c) pat/dab the tattoo dry gently with paper towels

d) apply a small amount of lotion once or twice a day as required

e) too much cream will damage the tattoo-be careful

f) you may bath or shower with your new tattoo, but DO NOT soak the tattoo in any kind of water

g) salt and chlorinated water will destroy your tattoo. So NO swimming at all until the tattoo heals

h) the sun easily damages the ink we have placed into your skin, so NO sunbathing

i) if you want your tattoo to look good, you should avoid getting it sunburnt. The tattoo is "under" your skin, so a tan will tone down the colours.

j) USE sunblock at all times!

* PUT UNDER WARM SOFT WATER FOR 10 SECONDS MAX, - dont rub dont touch it at all let the water just go on it.



when out of shower dab lightly very very lighty with a clean sterilized towel, then apply paw paw cream or Bepanthan twice a day (morning and light)

OMG nooo dont use alcohol!! you just took a shower, so it's clean. let it heal. I have 3 & I made that mistake, NEVER again. it's going to peel, after the peeling, it's good to show/go.

After your shower, put a layer of the cream.

Do NOT use alcohol, anything abrasive (oatmeal), or anything oily (neosporin or vitamin E). Wash the tattoo several times a day with hot water and soap (I use Dove because it has moisturizer in it) and then apply UNSCENTED lotion afterward.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Oh my God no! Just shower like normal and put on the stuff the artist either gave you or recommended. NEVER use alcohol! That hurts just thinking about it...
