Is it safe to fly on an airplane soon after getting a tattoo?

I understand that with a large group of tightly packed people, airplanes are rife with germs and boarders can be more susceptible to infection and disease.

Is it unwise to get a tattoo on Thursday and board a plane for a one-hour flight Saturday?

go right a head if your really worried which you shouldn't be but if you need the extra caution wear the gauze over it and tell them its healing. or wear a long sleeve shirt

For all intensive purposes you'll be fine. I've traveled to get tattoos a few times and never had a problem (other than it being mildly uncomfortable to jam a new tattoo into those tiny seats). However I would just be aware of the environment. Planes are filled with germs and people, and stuff that could easily cause infection if you're not aware of it. I would avoid having the tattoo exposed while going through the airport and the plane, but you should be just fine :)

You'll be fine, just make sure the area is protected. I did the same thing, follow the instructions they gave you to the letter if they have it ask for the sample size ointment so you can take it on the plane with you.

It's perfectly fine. I went to L.A. from Texas (5 hours) the day after I got my tats (on my hips). The seat belt was uncomfortable, but other than that, no problems. Just cover it, and make sure you don't scratch it. The last thing you want is scar tissue. That looks gross.

I believe you'll be fine - I mean - you walked down the street after getting your tattoo done right??? You've been in public places after getting it done right??? So a flight is not gonna hurt it.

I'm not sure. YA isn't really the place to get answers concerning your health. You should call your tattoo parlor and ask for their opinion.

its absolutely fine, there is no more risk for catching diseases on an airplane than at the doctors office or grocery store.

Tattoos and piercings are scagging and are for things that live in trees.
