I have a tattoo that covers my whole back. When it was healing, I simply applied lotion and put on my normal clothes over it. Make sure what you're wearing is soft and loose, but beyond that it shouldn't be a huge problem. My tattoo healed perfectly fine. Sometimes there was lotion residue on the fabric, but it should be on the inside of the garment anyway. Not a huge problem.

Don't do anything that will scrape the tattoo. It could damage the skin and the new ink Don't let your clothing stick to the tattoo. If it dries and you peel it off, you could damage the image. Keep the tattoo out of the sun. If the tat dries up and cracks it could damage the image. Other than that, it shouldn't be an issue.

first off, you should not be using A&D. it is oil based and keeps your tattoo wet all the time. your tattoo needs air to breathe and heal correctly. it is very bad to over moisturize your tattoo in the healing process. scabs form because of being over moisturized and could fall off taking color with them. very little amounts of a non scented water based lotion is best to heal a tattoo with. it should not look shiny after applying. your tattoo should not scab, only have dry thin flakes. if you develop scabs or when your tattoo starts to flake, let it dry heal without applying anything so lotion does not get stuck in crevasses and pull out ink. anyways.... sorry for my speech lol.
DO not cover your tattoo with anything, remember, it needs oxygen to heal. since your keeping A&D on it, expect goo on your jacket and maybe a little color too along with it. if you use lotion, or dry heal, it is normal for it to itch a little with clothes on top of it, just dont scratch it. but it is absolutely fine to wear clothing on top of your tattoo.
oh-and FYI you should never wear a bandage on your tattoo again after you take the original bandage off that the artist gave you.

i would put a bandage on top of the tattoo for a while incase it gets irratating to your skin.

i recently got a fairly large tattoo on my ribbs and i always put like a vitamin e rub on it with plastic wrap cause it just sticks right too it.
it really does work and that way you dont have to peal bandages away from it.

well, i would try not to put anything on ,a bandage is necessary for the first 3 days but after that it just needs fresh air to heal , wear your clothes as normal just make sure theres not A lot of friction between your clothes and the tatoo.

the material rubbing up against it might irritate it and make it uncomfortable, so the shorter amount of time you wear the jacket, the better.
