I had my nipples pierced then took them out about a year or two ago. However, they Still aren't healing. I can't get the jewelry through anymore, but the holes are still theere and if I sqeeze em, white, smelly puss-like stuff comes out on both sides of both nipples.

Are they infected or just taking a really damn long time to heal?

oh my gosh, see a doctor. nipple piercings are at high risk of abcessing from the inside. there is a term for this but i don't remember it offhand at the moment.

if it's a really bad infection, the doctor will have to slice into your breast from underneath your nipple to drain it.

on the other hand, seeing as how it's white and smells (like feet and garbage?) it may be dead skin cells (ie. funk) and there shouldn't a problem. either way, get it checked out as no one on the internet will be able to tell you exactly what is wrong without seeing it in person.

When a piercing is healed, it has a tube of skin inside it called a fistula. Once you remove the jewelry, your body can decide weather to break down that tissue or to leave it intact. If your body does not reabsorb the tissue, it is still going to produce dead cells like skin anywhere else on your body.

Your nipples also produce a thicker oil than much of your skin does to keep themselves moisturized. This oil mixes with the dead skin cells in your piercing and makes that lovely waxy substance you are probably finding. If you're finding smelly liquid that looks like discharge, you may need to see a doctor or a piercer. But some waxy buildup is not unusual in a nipple piercing.

Squeezing your piercings can irritate them and cause injury, so you may want to stick to soaking them in warm water or sea salt soaks to keep them cleaned out.

The white stuff is just lymph and dead skin cells. Your piercings may never close completely, but they are probably healed. The white discharge is normal in a healed piercing. Its just like how ear piercings get a crust on them. They are not infected. If they were infected, they would be red, hot, swollen, and have a stinky greenish discharge.

if its been over a year, then please see a doctor. he might just give you some mediciated cream. puss is never good....

make sure you keep the area clean too!!! wash them very gently with a mild cleanser like Cetaphil and apply piercing spray or salt water.... also make sure your bra is clean. wash it everyday to avoid sweat or bacteria from enteing the peircing.
