tattoo idea on domestic violence?

I am planning on getting a tattoo on domestic violence but I dunno what phrase/saying/quote to use that will correlate to my experience. Does anyone know of any good phrases/saying/quotes that I can use because I want to get it on my rib cage with a cursive font leading to a pen quill on the bottom and have a ribbon in the middle of the quote.

Why not get a scorpion? Other than the star sign the meaning is that they stand up for themselves. They may look small and fragile but they have a nasty sting!
