Can I work as the desk girl for a tattoo parlor even if I can't do tattoos? I love tattoos but I suck at art. I think it would be awesome to be able to work around tattoos but I don't know if you can get hired at a parlor without being a tattoo artist. What do you think? Advice?

Some places have a person that is just at the front desk and handles stuff up front, others don't. My piercer works in a place where him and the owner are the managers and will run the front. If he is piercing and the other manager isn't around then the other piercer or tattoo artists will handle the front. All places are different, it never hurts to see if there are places looking for someone just up front.

The shop where I worked, our receptionist had a bunch of tats and piercings, but couldn't do either. She was just the receptionist, she scheduled appointments, kept track of the paperwork, photocopied the ID's, and took care of the money. She also did inventory on the body jewelry, placed orders for ink, cold sterilization solution, needles, clamps, and other necessities of the business. She was also the first face the customer would see inside the shop.

So yeah, you can get on at a shop if they are hiring a receptionist, even if you can't to tats or piercings.
