Some lightening is to be expected. If you've kept it covered and used the correct lotions, it will be fine.

It needs to fully heal in before you can really see the finished look. If need be, it may be possible to darken it more later by essentially tattooing over it.

As long as you're not picking at it or peeling it by picking at it, it will be okay just don't touch it and clean it gently.

yup this is totally normal...the tattoo scars over so the dark in isn't as vibrant as it was when it was first done.

Tattoos After Peeling

Yes it is. It will peel for a while. But new skin will form on it and the natural color will appear again. If you go tanning, be sure to put sun screen on it, or it will be ruined. Same thing for a tanning bed, sun screen, then a wrag.

i dont know, but you should ask someone who had one or a doctor or the person who gave you the tattoo.

a little fading is norm, but if it ends up looking patchy, Id go back to your artist. He'll do a free touch up considering its only recently done.

It sounds normal. DO NOT PEEL IT YOURSELF. It should flake off on its own. My tattoo (rec'd 4/14/06) never peeled. The worse it ever looked was right after I got it when it was still red & a little swollen. Mine actually looks fake. My tattoo artist is a relative & he told me that if someone tells me it looks fake to take it as a compliment-it means the job was done well. I think if you are really worried then you should go back to the place you got it (if possible) and have them look at it. That way you have established NOW that there may be a problem-don't wait until a year from now to do something. Oh, if it is bleeding, you really need to go back & get it looked at.

It is normal. Tattoos are always brighter and nicer when you first get them. They then lighten up to the color they will stay until age changes them. Usually they will then get lighter in some areas and stretch out a bit. More as time goes on especially if you don't take care of your skin and like to tan.

Cheerio!

It definitely won't get darker. I remember mine being so dark then lightening up after peeling. If it's faded or splotchy looking already, you might want to have your guy/girl fix it up a bit. It shouldn't look bad already. I'm sure it's normal though. Do NOT pick at it even if it itches like crazy because the scabs you pick off will pull the ink with it.

lighter is normal as you are shedding the first couple of pigmented layers of skin.

the tattoo will not become darker than what it is after healing. if you want it darker, you should speak to your artist :)

It's normal. Don't pick at it and don't scratch the scab. It's best to put a little lotion on it and cover it with saran wrap. (You can duct tape it to yourself, it's what I did.)

If it starts itching, slap it, dont scratch it.
