you can personalize it and stuff pick something that means a lot to you after all you are going to have to live with it for ever

As mzjavert says, that's probably not really the way to go about it.
Think about what aspect of music is meaningful to *you* - a style you admire, the instrument you play, etc - and choose or sketch out a design for that. Then discuss with the tattooist how it will work as a design.
One of mine, for instance, is completely to do with music, but not a "music design" at all: it's a stylised logo of my accordion keyboard layout.

I have a sleeve and i also love music very much, biggest part of my life.... what i did was i have a music notes all around my arm going up and down in a wave, with the treble and bass clef. u can always do something like that with small designs in the notes replacing them with something form the Beatles. hope this helps, and doesn't sound to confusing....

Don't look for "tattoo designs" per se. Look to any image that is musical. For example these coins are absolutely beautiful and depending on your interests could be made into a killer musical tattoo.
