Did you bump your head? Follow the aftercare instructions the tattoo artist gave you. The dish soap may be antibacterial, but I'm sure it has degreasing agents in it used to clean dirty dishes, not to wash a new tattoo.

My tattoo artist told me that normal bar soap was enough and mine healed beautifully so I would leave the dish soap for your dishes.

Way to harsh!! Dish detergent isn't designed to be used like body wash antibacterial soap. Like the other poster stated, follow your artist aftercare instructions.
