what state is allowed tattoos with parents permission?

i want to get a tattoo and my mother says its fine. what state allows them with parents permission? i dont think california does which is absolutly absurd.

I know MT does, but more importantly then just finding a state that allows tattooing with parental consent, is finding a good shop. One that's sterile, the artists are licensed (you'd be amazed how many aren't) and of course that you feel comfortable in. Also make sure you really want the tattoo and like it, you are stuck with it for life and 20 years down the road you may not want that Pooh Bear that seemed cute at 16! Good luck though..a good tattoo can be a good investment, if you want it for yourself and not just to be cool!!

California doesn't allow you to get a tattoo even with parent consent before the age of 18. But I'm sure you can find a place that will do it. Especially if you look older than you are. But there are a few states like Oklahoma and South Carolina that ban them all together. Your best bet to find out for sure is to just call a local tattoo parlor and ask them about it.

Im pretty sure its allowed in every state, but I may be wrong. Find the shop you wish to use and ask the artist. Usually if they do not do work on Minors it is because of the artist's personal preference. Your mom will have to sign off on it though, and they may require her to be present at the time... which part of California are you in? I know of a shop in Goodyear, AZ (straight shot from cali on I-10) which is AWESOME and well worth the drive. It is called Bright Ideas.

I don't think any...It's illegal to get them until a certain age. The tattoo parlor can get in trouble. I don't think your mom is really going to travel to a different state with you just so you can get a tattoo.

Get your mom to go to the tattoo studio with you. As long as they have papers proving she is your mother they cant deny you
