And can you do purple over yellow, or would that make it brown?

I think most inks are transparent so if you know your color wheel, you will get orange from the yellow and red and probably something pretty murky from the purple and yellow but that has a much better chance.

The yellow over red isn't really possible.

If it's a cover up job and the use of yellow is something that'll be required to get the new tattoo done how you want it, then I'd look into a few laser removal sessions.

Not enough to fully remove it, just a few sessions on the red parts to get it faded a bit.

I actually think it depends on the type of ink the artist uses. If you're wanting to cover an existing tattoo, I'd go back and ask the previous artist what kind of ink he used, then get a second opinion on what inks will cover it.

Red and yellow make orange. The brighter and lighter colors don't work well on certain skin tones. You might have to to a couple of passes to get it to stay red. This is something your artist should have known and told you before he tattooed you.

depends if your colour had faded or how long ago you had it done. the purple over yellow might be ok but not sure about the yellow over red but ask your tattoo artist and see what they think

Hi......well actually I think it depends from the professional level of the person you are supposed let's say.....to change the old color version of the tattoo.
