We have a bunch of lotion here in my house. A nivea baby lotion which is a very lightly scented lotion and a fragrance free lotion but it still has that slight lotionly smell. I cant find any of the stuff the internet recommends like lubiderm, A&D, bephanten etc.

Using scented moisteriser on a healing tattoo is a no go - why? It can dry it up or irritate the hell out of it, which will include stinging or itching like crazy. A dry healing tattoo can lead to healing problems (fading or looking fuzzy)

This is why its essential for everybody to buy these products before or just after the tattoo, if you can afford a tattoo then you can afford some lotion (not generally aimed at you but there so many people that use this excuse)

If you can't buy any of these products then do a patch test - apply a small amount of lotion you have on a cotton bud (or similar) and apply to the edge of a tattoo. If nothing happens then use it but you need to buy one of these products ASAP as they are for long term

Avoid lotion that have petroleum (like vaseline) and savlon (that have anti bacterial ingredients) as both RUIN tattoos badly

Look on the back of the bottle. if there is any fragrance then it is not ok to use. This is because it is a healing wound and scent can irritate it. Lotion has a smell, but its not an added fragrance.

Its fine to use, go ahead, other then the part where you come back and tell me how your arms burns like a b***h

But in serious cases you can use it but it burns like hell, dont use vaseline it pulls out ink, and just go buy A&D Ointment its under 10$ for enough you need at Family dollar, Walmart etc.

it is recommended that you use scent free lotion because of the chemicals that are in the scented stuff
