I got a cartilage piercing and just above the ear lobe pierced on June 5th. My boyfriend got his ear lobe pierced the same day.
When can I take them out while I sleep?

You can't take out your cartilage piercing like your lobe unless its a large gauge. You may be able to take it out for a little bit, but cartilage won't heal correctly ever if it was done with a gun. If you got it done by a pro from a piercing/tattoo shop with a 14-00g needle or dermal punch then in 6 months you should be able to have it out a few hours without it shrinking.
Trust me, I have many piercings, and I have learned from many mistakes. Please read of the dangers of piercing guns if you got it done that way. They are so dirty, can't be sterilized properly, and aren't made for anything except lobes!

His lobe is going to heal a hell of a lot fast than your cartilage. I would say wait six months. Cartilage is one the slowest healing piercings you can get. Better to wait too long than not long enough.

cartilage piercings take 4months to heal so you should not leave your jewellery out for more than a couple of minutes until after the healing time whereas lope piercings heal in 4 to 6 weeks but will still close up a little if jewellery is left out for too long
